The SoC fedora is arguably the most iconic fedora in the whole series, mostly because it seems to be the most unique. It's worn out, misshapen, sweat stained, and yet somehow still handsome (which is how I feel after the gym ). I know none of the vendors will divulge their secrets or proprietary methods, but is there anyone else out there with anecdotal evidence as to how one can achieve the SoC look? It certainly appears as though the brim break was completely removed in the front of the hat, there's a heavy turn, but I'm not entirely sure how the whole "muffin top" crown happens. Thoughts?

Re: What's the Cairo treatment?
Hello! Consensus has always been that the nature of the felt involved has a lot to do with it - rabbit vs. beaver, thin vs. thick, etc.
We know that H Ford and costumer sat on it, crumpled it, turned it and recentered the crease, etc.
On mine, while I don't always sit on it, I have. And the mushroom top shows up in some form or another.
It does require some risky abuse on a better made hat.
The ribbon on that hat also seems to have either migrated up or come off to the point where they tacked it down slightly higher than where it started.

I know some members on here are experts on it. Most notably Holt who can make a standard Akubra have a great SOC look.
Now if they'll spill the beans, that's another matter....

Fuller’s Earth... lots of it
...but seriously, Fuller’s Earth has a lot to do with it. Especially on the ribbon.
