Pretty nice looking skin. Those pockets do look a bit high up though.

Do we know anything about the fit? I really want one but even in the Small size the regular cut has felt a little big in the past. I gather it will not be similar to the Legend pattern which is more of a trim fit.

No clue, as I haven't handled this series pattern myself. :-k

Though the pattern isn't the Legend pattern, it's also NOT the Signature Series pattern which is a bit more generous in the sizing. :-k

Drop David Hack a line at info@uswings.com and see if he can give you some more input.

You can also check out the post by Tennessee Smith where he reviews his new charcoal lambskin Wings jacket that uses the same pattern, as he mentions how it fits him and sizing.

Nice looking jacket I will order in Nov. I am not a SA stickler and like many USW jackets. Still waiting on the russet Indy I preordered already. Been wearing my import USW goat this week in the mornings. So many jackets in the closet...…...

That russet jacket looks sweet! Make sure to post pics when it arrives!!

I like the look of this buffalo skin. Looks real nice. Wish I could purchase any one of these. I love that Dino lamb jacket. I tried to put one in the shopping cart and it said it's in stock.

In stock, or OUT of stock? :-k

If you're referring to the cape buffalo, it's available for pre-order, but none are in stock until December.

They were also available for pre-order, so technically they are 'in stock'.

As for the charcoal gray, that stock came in last Friday (according to Sgt. Hack), so that should be physically available, as he said the pre-orders were shipped last Friday as soon as they came in.

Contact David Hack directly at info@uswings.com and he can advise you on availability.

Well, from what I gather these are sort of being made by order?? It says they have a certain amount of the leather and when the orders use it all up, that's it...

Well, yes and no. :-k

He was able to source a certain amount of each leather, took pre-orders to determine sizes needed to fill those orders, then added several of each size to create a limited inventory for regular orders. Those will be sold until they run out of inventory.

The original plan was to re-order another limited number (as the leather available is VERY limited and sourced out of France), once the first group in inventory was sold out.

With the acquisition of this cape buffalo hide (sourced out of South Africa), that won't happen now.

Once the charcoal lambskin and russet cowhide is sold out, that will be it, so if you're on the fence, don't hesitate or you'll miss out completely.

That's what happened with the kangaroo hide Indy's too. That leather source dried up (and that was REALLY limited!), and once the last 4 sold out of inventory (I don't know if those are gone), that's it for 'roo hide Indy jackets from Wings.

Same thing happened with the '50 mission' cowhide Indy's, the vintage goatskin Indy's, etc. I've seen a LOT of versions come and go and never come back in the past 30 years!

Hopefully this new cape buffalo will last a bit longer, as it looks fantastic!

That's how I understand things stand, but like I said, drop David a line to confirm.

Howdy, all!

Long time since I’ve been around these halls...but, I haven’t been this excited in awhile, either!

Really looking forward to getting this jacket in hand! It simply looks awesome!

Oh, and I was asked to post this word for word...

“I found if I hand rub our leather care in the Cape Bufflo it really softens up the leather and I will post on Indy Gear that every Cape Bufflo Indy I will hand rub our leather care in the leather and let it set for two days before We ship it at no extra charge.. It will soften up the leather and give it the rich old world feeling.I would like to see all the Indy Fans wearing this jacket!
Regards,
Sgt. Hack”

How’s THAT for service?!

Anywho...be on the lookout for pics once she comes in!

Well, major turn of events. I am selling a couple of my old goatskin A2's that I no longer really wear (one a Cooper and one an Avirex) and hopefully by the end of this week, I will be ordering another US Wings Indy...I'm partial to the russet colored one since the color is so different. I hope they still have it in stock when I order...cross your fingers!

My 2nd choice would be the dino lamb and then the Cape Buffalo...so many choices...nice to have!

Got my Buffalo jacket yesterday. Nice leather and the fit in 2XL was spot on.

I thought the leather would be heavier but it is a nice medium weight. Reminds me of a lighter weight cow/steer. Very soft out of the box. Nice dark brown color.

How is the hide compare to signature series cowhide in terms of thickness?

Trying to remember as I had a signature cowhide awhile back but it was too baggy. They are about the same thickness. The buffalo is not as thick or stiff like I thought it would be. Soft and a medium weight. If I remember right, the signature cowhide was the same. You would need to have some layering or a sweatshirt/sweater under the jacket if it was colder out. Same goes for the russet jacket. The russet feels slightly heavier than the bison. Both are a medium weight to me. I base this on a couple Aero in HH I have that are for sure thick jackets and have a thin wool lining.

Really like to see the fit photos of both russet and buffalo jacket.
