Mk VII - Mark...1

Post by bearbeast »

I tried my hand at making my own Indy bag. I ordered the 16 oz cotton duck online and the colour was much whiter than I expected. It was also much thicker than expected so I couldn't copy the MK VII design completely (too many layers to sew at once). But overall I am pretty satisfied with how it turned out.

Next step will be to order some green cotton duck and try to get a bit closer to the Indy look with an Mk VII 'Mark 2'. :lol:

I also made the leather strap myself. With that I have a bit of experience so it came out much better:

Hey, guys! Thanks!

It took a lot of planning, really. Seeing how I can replicate the original with the material I had and trying to determine how that one was assembled took a while. The execution was the fastest part.

I like the look of the white cotton duck, I would actually use that quite a bit for my daily travels... it is fun to see a new take on an old favorite! Nice job. :tup:

@WetDigger:

Thanks, I have gotten used to the white colour, but still I think I will make a new bag from some green duck in the future. :-k

@Distantpeople:

Hmmm, I would not go for a dye. At least if I can find some properly coloured material. They also had some green duck where I got mine from, but it was nowhere near the correct shade. :TOH:

Cheers,
Bear
