Gotta get a Relic Hunter Cairo when they get the darker SL back in.

What!?? A darker SL? If I knew that I would have waited. ](*,)

My BK is a great jacket alright but color a bit too light for my liking.
IndyMassilla - great collection! Nice pics!

1- I just have one

2- It's a US Wings 30th anniversary lambskin Legend. Got it 5 years ago, when they were just $195!
I found it to be a nice, supple light/medium-weight 3 season jacket. Good in weather between 40-60 degrees, even down in the 30s with a sweater or fleece underneath. I wear it as an everyday jacket, so I can't really justify getting another Indy jacket. I have no idea how screen-accurate it may be, but I love the way it looks and it's my favorite go-to jacket (unless the weather's too warm or too cold).

Three Questions for All Jacket Owners

I like the lambskin. Had a crusade in that from early 2000s. Most comfortable, but definitely not the most durable. I remember Michaelson saying something about G&B used to make an expedition in deerskin. I wonder why more (anyone?) don’t offer that leather. It’s every bit as soft as lambskin, but far more durable.

-Washed Goat Wested ROLA from 2009
-Dark Novapelle CS/LC from appx 2011
-Goat Hero from 2015

My desert island jacket would be the washed goat ROLA, because it's already been on so many adventures. Might as well make more in it, right? After all the wear, including its worn out liner at one of the armpits, it really has that adventure jacket feel to it. Years ago, I kept going through jackets, tying to find the perfect looking one. Now, years later, I see this one, compare it to all the jackets I own (both Indy and non-Indy), and think to myself, this is the one. It's got a look and feel you can only get by long-term, long-time wear, coupled with long-term ownership.

The BK Relic Hunter on the right of the picture is the jacket i wear the most on my everyday life.
The jacket was from the first batch of striated skins made a few years ago(maybe 5-6 years,i don't remember well..) ,it have no distressing at all,and i advise wisely to avoid any artificial distressing ,washing machine,acetone,sandpaper,etc..for expensive jacket !
Nature, wind, sun, spray of the sea, everyday life are the better way to make a beautiful distressing.
Soon i will put on it some leather care product;Pecard or Saphir leather oil pray
Compare to this, the Bk's left jacket ( Cairo style) who is totally new, never wore for the moment, and bought it to a gentleman of this forum, the leather is a bit thiker than the 1 jacket, and really love it too..

Two beautiful jackets you got there. Id love to see the jacket post pecarding. A slight difference in the darkness of the brown there, the left one to be a little darker than the right off course. Nice striations. I guess the hard thing with vendors must be to maintain their consistency of their leather colours. If I was to ever get another BK (unlikely at this point) I would definitely wait for a darker leather. I’m thinking of pecarding my jacket as well. I’ll wait a year and let the emotions die down first... then attempt.

But in answering to this thread: I have two jackets...

1) 2015 Wested Hero in Authentic Lamb
2) 2017 BK Cairo

Since I have had the Wested for longer it’s a great throw around jacket and it was less expensive than my BK. But the leather quality on the BK and the fit far exceeds the Wested and I’m looking forward to breaking it in. I received it in spring and it’s now summer so I’m waiting for winter to roll around so I can make good use of it. It’s quickly becoming my favourite jacket (it has to with all that money I spent. :rolling:

I love the color of those original Relic Hunters, but I wasn't crazy about how it looked on me. I knocked the color down with an extremely light application of Red Wing boot oil. It worked very well. I would say just be very careful when applying the oil. Once it is on there, you can't get it back. I put a very small amount on a soft rag and lightly applied it to the surface of the jacket. This was about 3 years ago, and it still looks good.

Indymassilia, your original Relic Hunter looks awesome. I wouldn't touch it. If you must, something like Pecard's leather lotion is probably a safer bet.
