I asked for the Ribby Merino and requested they orient the grain to match screen shots
of the Raiders jacket.
To say I'm Happy would be an understatement.

OK, thanks. I'm trying to decide if I want to order one too. I need a screen accurate Raiders jacket. Seems like S&J is a good way to go.

The attention to detail that makes all the difference. The way the collar curls over.

I don't have the skin you have, I have thin cowhide, but love it and you will love yours too they make the best jacket in my opinion especially if you factor in price. I am going to order a LC later for winter use before winter time.

Thanks Jim.
It was a pleasure to make this jacket for you.
Looking foward to a review with the hat. It will be a perfect match.
Kind regards.-

Did S&J do any distressing to it?

I'd like to know the answer to Tinplatejeff's question as well. I recently placed an order for this very jacket, and am trying to decide whether to have it distressed or not. Thanks.

Yes.

Light distressed was ordered.

So, shine is off and a very little bit of "weared" effect. Nothing massive.

Cheers.-

Yes. I just ordered mine with screen accurate distressing. Will take it in stages. Let them send pics and decide when to stop. I will go probably go with a lot as I have plenty of "new Raiders" looking jackets from Wested, etc...

cybertrek, I got a Ribby Merino '36 Cazadora a few years ago and love it but it is lightweight. They told told me to stick with the specs and not to modify, boy were they right !! I had a jacket from another manufacturer in spec for my size and I got the " flying squirrel " effect, nice jacket as long as you don't move or do action. Ribby Merino gives you the grain and drape you want but you're not wearing it in anything under 50-45 degrees, it's thin but that's what it's supposed to do. Steele and Jones make a great jacket, bear in mind depending on their leathers available there will be a difference in shade variation so request a darker or lighter tone to your taste. That's my two cents. Oh yeah, I live in West Palm Beach just south of you, let me know if you want to connect to bs .. Guanna Bannas, Square Grouper, etc. whatever. Let me know and enjoy !! :TOH:

Cybertrek, did your jacket arrive yet? I’m looking to get your impressions.

I ordered one just like yours, based on the photos you uploaded. Sadly I’m going to have to wait awhile: I will have jacket #107.

Wait!

You got an order number dropped from a previous buyer, who had to cancel.
So, your order actually comes after order #108

Currently working on # 101...

And remember, I schedule the jackets not only by order number, but also by styles
Because, I have a workshop that does only Raiders jackets. The other one makes the rest.

A little inside info of our small business. :TOH:
Cheers.-

I can vouch for what Clipper is saying: imgur is the site I use, and it's really easy. They also resize photos without any trouble, so posting appropriately-sized photos on COW isn't a hassle.

Photobucket introduced a new policy where you have to pay a subscription if you want to post your photos on forums. That's why if you look around on COW, including in this thread, a lot of the pictures have been replaced by an image telling you to update your photobucket settings.

So that's what that is! I must have some pretty sorry-looking posts all over the place. Thanks for the 411.
