A new movie with whip action in production

Post by Robert Duke »

Have a bit of a scoop.

A week ago I was contacted by a movie production company that was looking for falls and poppers for their bullwhips which I sent to them right away. Sadly, I was told not to disclose any details, but do know the name of the studio, film company, movie, director and several of the actors in it.

Since nothing else is going on here, I thought I would leak that. Not much to say really, but am always excited to see movies being used with whip action in it.

Any ideas on when Indy 4 is going to begin production? Do they have a script ready yet? It almost seems as if they've scrapped the idea for it.

Can we fish for clues?

Will it be a western, or an adventure?

Will the bullwhip be a prominent weapon?

Is this an original movie, a remake, or a sequel?

I can't leak too much or they'll kill me.

Not a western, or adventure.

Is an original.

I don't think the bullwhip is a prominent weapon.

From the list of actors it is going to be a who's who, but perhaps many cameos.

I saw the Rundown 2 nights ago for the first time. Some of the whipfighting was cool. I liked the wrap on the gun. A cool idea for the whips in that movie. My wife hated the movie.... definitely a guy flick.

That'd be an adventure. Duke is saying it's an original...this has me a bit puzzled. Maybe it's a movie based off of a novel? Hmmmm. Could it be based on a true story?

Cassidy - Go fish

ITG- You're getting close. Not a true story though.

Debi and me will be in McKinney, Texas this Friday performing at a hospital. Last Friday we were in Coppell performing at Mockingbird Elementary for their Field Day. I did LOTS of whipcracking for those tykes. They loved it and won't soon forget it.

Hmm, well, any of you know a book out there that uses whips that's about to go into production?

Robert,

has the film company said what roll you'll have in the up and coming movie?

Could it be a re-make of a Lash Larue epic?

:D

All the very best.

Jim,

No role, but I have offered. Maybe I can send them a whip. Falls and poppers they've purchased is all so far.

It's not a western, but is being filmed here in Texas.

One little bitty hint: Bruce Willis has been cast.

Sweet Mother of Pearl!
They're finally making the Moonlighting Movie! Sweet!
Will Cybib Shepard be playing Maddie _? I can see her using the whip.
She'd cut Bruce Willis to ribbons.

The new Zorro movie doesn't go into production for around another 7 or 8 weeks. I was talking with Joe Strain last week and he is making all the whips for the movie and is starting production on them this week or next. Quite a few whips. A big 25 footer.

Later.
I'm gonna go listen to my Moonlighting soundtrack.

Not knowing the plot of Sin City, did Frank Miller originally use a whip in his book (or stage play)? Can ya tell I'm clueless.

Frank Miller is a graphic novelist. He created the Batman: Dark Knight (which is what the films are based on) Very Noir and moody.
