Hey all,
I was fortunate enough a few years ago to have found a really good Alden looking pair of boots at Aldo shoes on sale for $50. New about $130 I think. This is all the offer at the moment, but they are a nice pair as well https://www.aldoshoes.com/us/en_US/men/ ... 0558870-28" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
They originally came with brown flat laces that quickly snapped so for the past while I've just had round lighter brown boot laces. However, I think they look better with darker brown flat cotton laces and just put some on. However, I'm still not 100% satisfied.
No matter how hard to search the forums or look for Screen Shots, I can't seem to see what kind of laces Indy has. Are they round or flat, and what color contrast from the leather color? Also, I guess Indy's are just dirty but they seem to be very light in color.
So are they like this: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/23 ... a24eb7.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Or like this?: http://46fjj12eeht73lsxezcqpvlt-wpengin ... enindy.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Would be interested to know what you all use, what is durable, and also good looking. I'm leaning towards the second link. Round dark brown boot laces.
Here's a quick shot of mine:

Look at the second page of this post: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=61207&start=50, scroll down, there are lots of pictures there. Some shots appear round but most appear flat. It may be up to whatever you think looks good. Newly purchased Aldins 405's will come with flat laces.

I use the factory laces until they need replaced and switch to 54 inch round laces.
For me, flat laces take too much time to make sure the they are evenly done. I know it sounds bad but I am a stickler for the laces to be perfect. The round laces solve that problem for me.

After looking around I decided to give these Waxed Polyester laces a try, since they are only $1.99 and free shipping! They look pretty good. I'll see how they are when they arrive.
