Drape on Wested trousers

Post by Bounty Hunter »

I haven't seen a picture of these on anybody yet, can someone comment on the drape? Raiders accurate? Do they give that slightly baggy appearance as in the Cairo scenes? (Hard to describe, but where they almost appear to be heavy in the bottom hem).
Thanks,
Dylan

Need to confirm this, do a search, but I think that they are hemmed 4 inches from the bottom to make them hang.

Here's a pic of my brand new Wested Raiders pants. They're only worn on the flight back from London and they still look a bit too "dressy" because I haven't gotten around to iron out the creases yet, but I think you'll get the general idea:

I ordered my pants unhemmed in order to be able to "control the bagginess" a little better. I decided to play it safe, so I settled with a mere 1,5 inches.

They will hang anyway. Cavalry twills is a great fabric - it's soft and drapes nicely, so these pants will look better with a little wear...

It's unfortunate that you cut the rear pockets off in the shot, and the tops of the other shots as well preventing seeing the pleats a bit better, but they look very good to me. 8)

Man those pants look a little light. Compared to the shoes.

Nice shoes... those are Aldens, right?

Oh, and the pants are really nice too. Just iron out some of those creases and you'll be set. Lookin' good though, I'd also like to see the pockets and pleats - I hope I can get a pair someday!

[EDIT: Changed pic. Removed creases; daylight (cloudy) pic showing plaits & drape  ]

That's my ToD authentic lamb in there... owned it since Wednesday, and yes - it was love at first sight... :D

Swindy... the baggage boys at both Heathrow and Arlanda did their job - your shirt is safe here in Uppsala! Coffee and tall tales up next - I'll post some stuff about the Wested visit as well...
Nice shoes... those are Aldens, right?
Yes indeed! The new, browner leather. They're a whole lot darker now, after an initial Meltonian & Pecard treatment.

Posted better daylight pics for your info and entertainment! :D

Aldens

So Alden did actually change the color of their leather? That's great! I can't wait until I save up the money to get me a pair... Nice jacket too! Nice shirt as well! Indeed (or Indy'd) you do have Indy gear.

Throughout most of ROTLA Indys pants seem to be "Highwaters" sitting about the bottom hook of his boot. On the streets of Ciaro his pants are quite baggy and seem much darker. I think the bagginess is because he seems to be wearing his pants lower than elswhere in the film. It looks like they are riding on his hips rather than his waist. Just a thought. Chime in.
