Aldens

Post by McFly »

I own a pair of leather shoes, and I find them very hard to get on. :? It may be that they're a little small, but the point is that they don't stretch to let your feet in! Do the Aldens do this too, or are they very "cooperative"?

They are a bit stiff but with the speed laces its not an issue.

The best thing I can recommend is having someone who is experienced in fitting Aldens select the size for you. If you do that you won't have to worry about them being too tight. I've found that my Aldens have stretched just enough so when I tie them the sides touch at the center of the tongue (which is how they are worn in ROTLA) You might want to check the phone book and see if there is anyone in your area that is an Alden shoe dealer. When you have the correct sized Aldens, there's nothing better on your feet. Hopefully someone from the CA. tribe will chime in on where to get fitted.

btw, welcome to the club.

Thanks, guys for the advice and insight... and by the way, Jess - I love that icon, it's so funny! Hard to believe he made that face in public.

I hope somebody else here in CA comes on too, surely they'll know!

Yeah, I suppposed if I was worth about 200 million, I wouldn't worry about making that face in public either. Now that I think of it, I'm no where near that amount and I don't worry about making that face in public (as long as it doesn't freeze that way).

Couldn't agree more about having those Aldens test fitted by a dealer. The shoe shop salesman said that there was no better shoe than an Alden, but being that it was overseas, you would want to make sure that it was sized right from the very beginning.
