Your whip slide out of the holster? So did Indy's!!
So I don't know why I missed this before but you know that "relax, this is kitten play" scene in LC? Well when Indy walks past the table up to the window to swing on the whip, watch the whip on his hip. That classic handle slide to the floor happens to him in about three steps!! Sorry I don't have any pics or vids if someone can verify that would be cool...

Rumor has it that fishing line had been used since Raiders to fasten the whip in the holder in various scenes.

Not surprised in the slightest. The whip holder is impractical which is why so many vendors around here have created modified versions.

Re: Your whip slide out of the holster? So did Indy's!!
I noticed not too long ago in Raiders before the SOC fight scene, as Indy & Marion are walking the handle is hanging down past Ford's knee. Made me feel better knowing the troubles I have had with my own whip holder. I have tried coating the inside with Plasti-dip so the rubber might grip the leather, or using velcro on the inside to secure any loose space. Both things helped a little. My best whip holster is one that fastens entirely with velcro- it actually is tight enough to prevent any sliding or falling out. I used that at Heroes Con a couple years back and it worked flawlessly.

Yeah, I gave up the SA whip holder fight as soon as I got into the hobby. Double wrap holders all the way. It's one of simplest and least noticeable gear mods that probably prevents the most headaches.

Couldn't agree more! I have one from Crease N Corral and it's great.

Ok so who makes a good belt and double wrap whip holster? I’m noticing a lot of these vendors are gone, outdated sites and don’t make it easy to contact them. You would think that they would make things simple as possible for a potential customer to make a purchase.

For USA maker look up Brian Lalonde’s Screencapped Leather And Hats on Facebook. I believe he’s a member here too.SeanSoLowe wrote:Ok so who makes a good belt and double wrap whip holster? For UK maker try Make It Jones. I’m in the USA, but ordered from him a couple of years, absolutely top notch work. Here’s his web site: https://sites.google.com/site/makeitjones/

Yeah it does still work for me but since I'm at work I can't risk the virus lol!
Also I did have the wrap around holder but the snap was never good enough. I tried replacing it with industrial velcro but I could never find a leatherman that could stitch it properly.
Does anyone make a wrap around with sturdy verlco that keeps it from sliding?
