Jacket Refresher

Post by Toldog07 »

Hello all,
I've been away from the forum for a while and I was wondering what the gold standard is these days for a screen accurate raiders jacket. Last time I checked it was the Nowak since he made his from a screen used jacket but now is the Bill Kelso Relic Hunter the way to go?

Again I'm strictly talking screen accuracy so any help with the specs (type of leather, etc.) will be a great help. Thanks!

As far as I know, the best options nowadays are the Bill Kelso Relic Hunter and the one made by Steele & Jones.

Happy hunting! :TOH:

Its interesting how a few years will change things, but now, BK & S&J make outstanding Raiders jackets, and S&J probably make THE best LC repros that have ever been made for fans. There are lots of threads to explore in that regard.

Wested Raiders Hero is the most screen-accurate, based on my experience. I bought mine last year, and its perfect!

This is brand-new, last spring. I've since distressed the leather and treated it with Pecards dressing.

I have a Kelso and it fits and looks great.

The exchange rate is very favorable right now, so depending on which skin you choose, you could get a really good deal.

The Steele & Jones jackets I've seen posted here look comparable to the Relic Hunter. I like the skins they're offering and the pattern looks looks spot on. Either way, I think these are the most similar jackets to what we see on screen in Raiders.

The Wested Hero looks good, but I don't care for the leather choices as much as the others. And the straps are ludicrously long, so you'd have to request a change and cross your fingers.
