Advice on my next jacket...
I'll hopefully be purchasing another jacket in the near future. Right now I've got a Todd's and a S&J (thin horsehide '36) on the way. I want a Wested because I think it'd be cool to have one from the original maker. I don't own a goatskin, so I'll probably go that route. What I'm looking for are thoughts regarding a Hero vs. an OTR. I know they're different patterns, but based on what I already have, what would you do in my shoes?

Hero if you like the quirks. RoLA custom if you decide to do that way. Before or after, save some money and get a BK. Its worth it.

I don't care for the fit of the Hero jacket but own one. The OTR Raiders is a normal fit.

The fit is one of my concerns. Do you know if it fits like a Todd's? I'm also worried that the OTR is too normal, if that makes sense. Like I wouldn't get a real Raiders vibe from it.

I have the Wested Otr in goat and it is a great jacket. Sort of heavy leather and built tough. I like the normal fit though so it suits me...

Re: Advice on my next jacket...
The Hero is a bit exaggerated as to the quirks in my opinion. They may or may not be able to adjust that, as to the severity of the off the shoulders effect, just a thought? That would be a question for them.
On the other hand, Todd's, S&J and BK, have the quirks built in, these are just not so exaggerated, if that is of any help. What are the quirks...off the shoulders effect of the joinder at the top of the sleeves at the shoulder/arm hole, the wider collar that is inset/cut into the back (that is why you have different back measurements between the jackets that incorporate the quirks and a RoLA, for instance), and the shoulder seams are not sitting on the correct top middle of the shoulder, but sit at an offset angle to the back. These are the "quirks". As a result, the jacket-until you get used to it, perpetually feels like it wants to slide off the back of your neck.

My Todd's was my first (and only, until my S&J shows up) Indy jacket. At first, I thought it didn't fit and was too small. Nothing about it felt like any other jacket I'd ever worn. I lived with it for a few days and decided (along with some input from members here) it fit just right. Now it feels natural.
Re: Advice on my next jacket...
I have a Wested Novapelle in a Raiders pattern I got from a member here. It is a great jacket. It really feels like it is quality and hefty. All of the Wested's I have handled have felt that way. Then again so do my Wings jackets and my Magnoli. Hard to go wrong honestly! I am a proponent of a realistic fit as opposed to a SA fit. I want to wear my jackets daily and get more function out of them than SA provides. Happy hunting!

Hi, first post on here. I have the hero jacket from Wested in shrunken lambskin. Its very different to a normal jacket.
It can feel short when your wearing it and the collar hangs away from your neck which can feel a little odd. I do love it though, the leather looks great, and has heaps of character!
