Fedoraiders Streets of Cairo hat (I’m still alive)

Post by fedoraiders »

Hello everyone,

It's been a long time since my last message but I’m still alive. It's been 10 years this year that I bought my first felt hat in a store in my area and and at this time I thought it was the right color for a Indiana Jones hat, (left picture) lol ! After this purchase, my passion was born for the Streets of Cairo hat and the right picture is my actual hat.

I put the hats beside me since several years but I decided to rework my old hats from my own collection. Several hats were badly stored in the box and these hats are just waiting to be reworked.

I have already sold the hats from my private collection but I'm not a hat vendor and I don’t take the order. Thanks for your comprehension.

When the Comiccon of Québec on the last month, there was a kiosk for the care of the beard and I bought these products.

It's the first time that I use the kind of product. Since I love it.

But I will see your web site Firehouse Moustache Wax.

Your hat and your costume are amazing. Your pictures are awesome.

Is it a original shape of your federation? Because the crown have really good shape.

You make a good choice with Steele and Jones. I like the work of Diego.

Your hat look very good with a natural light.

The dust is a little bit too yellow but it's hard to find a good color.

Wearing it constantly, it's perfect to have a authentic look.

I am looking forward to seeing your Steel and Jones.

Thanks my friend, your hat are awesome too.

I don’t want to start a rumor or a polemic but maybe someday I will have something to propose to you and also to Thomas from Advintage.

I will continue to think about that. :-k

Thank you very much Jack!

It's practically all felt from Herbert Johnson. I love the Herbert Johnson felt but the new heavier felt that I used is a little bit too thick to give a Raiders shape pronounced as the fans likes.

For me the thickness is very important. I have a Herbert Johnson felt of 2009 and thickness is 2 millimeters and the new felt is 3 millimeters. It's hard to see the thickness of the hat in the movie but I would say more 2 millimeters.

If the felt of the hat in Raiders have really 2 millimeters, It's that the felt was a very good quality because after 2 months under the big sun of Tunisia, the felt has never shrunk. Also, I guess that Mr Swales was not to stretch the felt and this is a good thing.

Fans of the Raiders hat, I would like to have your opinion. This is a new hat that I made with a rabbit felt that I bought in my country ( Montreal, Quebec, Canada). Now, I don't know the origin of the felt but I will look later. I think that the felt is too dark but I think it’s look good with a dust.

Let me know what do you think.

Thanks!

Jason
