Raiders bow tacking spots
I'm just about to put the finishing touches on my first handmade hat and I need a little help from the true Indy aficionados here. Who knows or has a good educated guess as to where the original hero fedoras visible tacking stitches were placed on the bow? I know all corners of the double bow were tacked however I'm uncertain if the knot was tacked anywhere to the crown? Thanks in advance.

I do not believe the knot is tacked to the crown. Dalexs has a good tutorial on replacing the ribbon and getting a good Raiders bow. http://dalexs.whitvani.net/hat/hatpage.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I've noticed the hero fedora seems to have tacking stitches right next to the bow's knot at the top but I can't tell if it's done at the bottom as well. Anyone concur?

I need to take a look at the recent hat I did, I honestly can't remember where I put them anymore...
I usually will fold the knot back as much as I can and get 2 stitches on the bottom.
But the trick is getting them under the top layer of the knot.
And try them as close to the edge binding as possible to minimize what you see.
That's the one mistake i see on a lot of the hats out there. The tacking stitches are too high on the material and very visible.

Both of my ABLs and my Cairo are tacked to the crown at the bottom of the knot, and not the top. The stitches are hidden behind the front of the knot right at the bottom, and go through the bow. And, as noted, all corners of the bow have tacking stitches.
