U.S. Wings Pre-Distressed VS Wested Pre-Distressed

Post by Falstaff »

Which on is the better jacket all around, the good'ol Wested Pre-Distressed Cowhide or the U.S. Wings Vintage Cowhide?

I've happily owned a Wested Pre-Distressed Cowhide for well over 3 years now, and I simply love it. It's held up wonderfully and with a treatment of Pecards every 6 months, it's been getting darker and softer each year. But after seeing pictures of the U.S. Wings Vintage Cowhide, I was wondering what the popular concensious was?

If you aren't the stadard sized person you'll never get a US Wings jacket to fit well. Wested is made to fit. Other than that, the USW pre-distressed is heavier than Wested's. I've had both......Wested's is way better. (So is their customer service).

I will second this exactly. Not even close in the fit and weight
department. And god help you if you have any issues with the jacket
that you would need any customer service.

Also, the price of the Wings is more than a Wested, even with the customs
charges and shipping. You get a custom fit jacket from Wested. You get
a one jacket fits all from Wings.

There really is no choice if you want a jacket that fits YOU.

I can't say enough about Wested. It's worth the relatively short wait, the materials and craftsmanship are top-notch, and you get a custom-fit jacket made by the folks who created the originals--all for less moola than the competition! How can you go wrong?

I have one of the US Wings Distressed Cows, it's a nice jacket. Very tough and nicely distressed. It is on the heavy side compared to a goatskin or lamb, so I wouldn't recommend it for a hot summer day. But winter, no problemo. I agree on the sizing, if you don't fit a regular size, you may want to either get it altered or a different jacket. All I had to do to mine (I did this to the USWings Goat, still need to do this to the Cow) is bring up the cuffs about an inch.

US Wings Cow is on top on the left, followed by Seal Chrome Goat FS in the middle and USWings Goat on the right.
