Distressing jobs gone bad?

As I think about distressing my Wested Raiders jacket, and read all of the great tips here, I start wondering about folks that either didn't follow the directions quite right, or else tried something totally different and amazingly misguided, in retrospect.

(Some background: back in the 1980s, when I was a young teenager, my best friend and I decided to see just how strong Casio's g-shock watch was. We froze it, boiled it, threw it off a building, drove over it with a car. Still worked great. And then, in a utterly inspired move, we decided to microwave it. Yeah.)

There have been several disasters posted in the past that the original writers deleted LONG ago when they realized they had gone too far.

Unfortunately I've seen several examples in the past few years where folks think they've done a great job, but to many eyes they're train wrecks. We're just too polite to point it out.

When I read the thread title I thought, "Michaelson thinks all artificial distressing jobs have gone bad."

Have to agree with M, though, plenty of horror stories, but rarely are they called such. Though, I suppose it's completely subjective and if the wearer is happy....but
