My 405 chromexcel after soon to be a year of use.

I use these for everything. Cutting down trees, tree trimming, hiking and just wearing for the heck of it. Will be a sad day when they do finally wear out.

Now that's what a pair of well-loved Aldens should look like.

Ha. Yeah, I am not too interested in making them look new again.

I do put some heavy use into them as my back has never felt better while working in them.

I was in the adirondacks this summer and used them on an easy high peak jaunt. Traction was sufficient for the dry day we had. Not very comfortable though. For the more serious hike I used my normal hiking shoes.

As for work, I wear them basically anytime I will be cutting trees, hauling branches or lifting heavy items. I know for the price paid, some would lose sleep over that but really they are a useful tool that happens to be the style Indy wore. Where I would need to really take it easy the next day, thanks to these boots I can throw on my sneakers and play tennis the next day.
