Weight of a whip
I have a Joe Strain 8 footer and I was wondering what it should weigh? It seems a bit on the light side, it cracks just fine, but it does seem a bit light. To me it should have a little more heft to it. Thanks.
Also,
if you are a person who is use to lifting a lot of weight on a daily basis for instance, will fine that most whips in general are a bit light, but , the ones that are perfectly balanced, such as Joe's will roll out and crack using minimal muscle power.
But ,
I'm not sure that there is an absolute weight to go by as a rule of thumb,
I have whips that are moderately heavy and crack great, but after lots of use can get a bit tiring, then there are the whips I have that are lighter in weight, as it seems, which feels like I could go on cracking for ages,
so I guess it begins to fall under personal preference.
I'm just thinking out loud .
All the best.
