While it doesn't excuse his rudeness, everyone who works at Disney should have some level of courteousness and politeness, the performers at the stunt show do have a better excuse than everyone else. This could also be an excuse behind the non SA costumes too. As explicitly stated in the show, these performers are stunt men and women and while they do "act out" the scenes, their job is to perform the stunts. The ideology is that is not Indiana Jones, that is an actor portraying Indiana Jones. That is also why for years, fans could get pictures with "Indy" at the stunt show but when Indiana Jones appeared at Disneyland in Summer of 2008, he couldn't stop for pictures because he IS Indiana Jones and Disney didn't own the character meet and greet rights at that time. That character's costume was a lot more accurate... but also played by professional Indy characters!
Also, working on Indiana Jones Adventure I can totally understand their use of the Dorfmans (although I don't like it. ) It's a lot easier to have a dozen cheap hats on hand in case the one he's wearing in one "scene" gets shredded, burned, or otherwise destroyed. Having that happen to a custom hat or tending to the backups is just too cost effective as opposed to the hundreds of hats in the store. I'm sure that the ones used in the show are catalogued by a central location but of course if EVERY hat gets destroyed, the nearest one is just outside the theater! After all, the Dorfmans are the officially licensed hats and most guests don't know the difference sadly. It really makes sense here in California where there are hundreds of people who work the Indiana Jones ride and the hat is a part of their outfit. The hats are all assigned out cast member by cast member, and locked up in a locker because they're an "expensive item." But those have already been worn and are just cleaned so most just buy their own hats to sweat into it themselves.
All in all, if you think the stunt show costumes are bad, just look at the Indiana Jones Adventure figure costumes or the Tokyo meet and greet character!

I've been complemented on my AB and HJ before in the parks so CM's and visitors know the true quality ones out there. Shame they don't offer any custom hats in the IJ shop there, which has had the same merchandise there since the ride opened!So-Cal Reporter wrote:While it doesn't excuse his rudeness, everyone who works at Disney should have some level of courteousness and politeness, the performers at the stunt show do have a better excuse than everyone else. Re: Disney Indiana jones show
So I just took the kids yesterday to see the show. They loved it. My 8yr old and 6yr old son thought he actually died at the beginning when the boulder ran over him.
On the other hand. I was a bit disappointed but overall they did a great job.
I missed the finalie with the plane due to the show being cut short on account of rain.
But that holster?? I felt like running up later and offering one I made for free.
I am guessing they went with the one they did so it shows up better to the people in the peanut gallery.
Good day at the parks though. Been awhile for me.

Re: Disney Indiana jones show
I remember going to that show when I was like 6 or 7. I just had got a newer (and slightly more accurate) wool DP hat. I even had the whole costume on, minus the jacket, and with shorts, but then before the show we went on Star Tours and one guy gave us freakin RESERVED SECOND ROW SEATS. We saw the show and it was the coolest thing I ever saw. I will never forget that day, it was awesome.
Back then, the hat didn't matter to me. Now it matters so much I made my own. But I still have that old hat. I still like to look at it from time to time to remember the show.
Anyway theres my little story.
