'Relic Hunter' jacket

Post by Screencapped »

I'm pretty certain everyone here has seen a particular jacket on the bay for sale called 'Relic Hunter' by Bill Kelso. What's the story with the jacket and is it actually a screen used piece?

Not sure what your confusion is. :-k The Relic Hunter is a replica jacket made by Bill Kelso as the auction description states.

Plenty of pixels here dedicated to this model.

Yep. I understand their pattern is based on a copy of a copy of a screen used piece. Sounds odd but is pretty accurate. Why not hop onto the Bill Kelso site and you can learn more about it.

OK now I'm clear about the jacket's origins. I'd read a post here where someone says there's a jacket on the bay that's a fake and never actually worn by HF. I assumed this was that jacket for some reason. I realize now it's not a screen worn piece. However it is an awesome jacket nonetheless. Ford should wear it if he plays Indy again.

Not sure what jacket you're referring to on ebay but generally its a Tony Nowak of dubious pedigree - right jacket, right maker, but no screen time.

Yep, Tony Nowak jackets show up from time to time. Sometimes the descriptions point blank say the jackets were made for the movie, sometimes the language is vague but implies that.

Tony Nowak made the jackets for Crystal Skull. He also made a limited run of made-to-order jackets for the fans, but he died before the entire run was sold. Not sure how many are out there, but it is surely in the hundreds. Tony purportedly got a hold of a screen used Raiders jacket, either from someone at Lucasfilm or an unknown private collector, and made replicas for the fans. It was the best version of the Raiders jacket available. A few years after Nowak passed away, a fan lent their 1:1 Tony Nowak Raiders jacket to Bill Kelso Mfg who now makes the Relic Hunter jacket. Got it? ;)
