What were the measurements for Ford's jacket in TOD and LC?
The jacket length is noticeably longer in both films.
Re: What were the measurements for Ford's jacket in TOD and
I think it was established by several people including Holt that there wasn't much difference in length.

Conceptually, you would think that the ToD jacket (1935) and the Raiders jacket (1936) would be the same, but because of the truck chase and bullet hole that he then had another one made? ie the LC jacket. The features were definitely different.
If you read the main page, apparently, Ford used a Raiders stunt jacket for some of the scenes. There certainly is a difference in the fit of the "leather shirt" and the other.
According to the LC stills, it too was a relatively short jacket:

I was looking for the still, but the end of the jacket hits at the pocket flaps.
Regardless, you still have the issue of the gun and whip. The jacket could not have been long, due to the potential hang up issues.
This is one instance where perception and actual can be different. If you perceive the jacket to be longer, then in your mind, it will be. But was it?

I personally think the jacket looks about the same length in all films. The biggest difference to me is the crazy long sleeves in Crystal Skull.
The jackets all look to be around 24 inches in length at the back, give or take an inch either way.
Of course, film stills and different scenes can make the the same jacket look shorter or longer depending on posture and angle.

The rule of thumb that I use is an inch or two below the belt. More important is that the jacket fits you.

No question about it Texan. I always wear 26-27 inches to achieve that best personal fit. Harrison and I are the same hight but I prefer a longer jacket.

I've always found to be 'rule of thumb' is the point when a jacket becomes a 'coat'.....that being, when it falls 3-4 inches below the belt line, it's now a car coat length, not a jacket.
A jacket falls around 2 inches below the beltline, give or take a half inch.
