Alden 405 (Calf not Chromexel) Color Adjustment

The color of the Aldden 405 (non-Chromoexel) has been described as, "brick color" or "orange color." Has anyone had any success trying to darken the color? What did you use and do you have pics? Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks

Years and years of success, at least with the older models... depending on the year, the colors were all over the place.

When I bought my back in 2005'ish, I received the infamous Pumpkin colored boots.
For some reason I cannot find a pic of those new out of box anywhere on the site...

But there were a few different techniques folks have used.
Leather dye & Pecard Brown polish seem to be the most reliable, depending on how far you want to take it.

I opted to go leather dye with my, specifically Fiebrings Walnut (available at some shoe repair or leather shops.)

There are a couple pair of toned down pumpkin colored 405's in this grouping.
