Wested washed goat vs standard goat

Post by Bradsburns »

Just hoping ya'll can chime in and let me know the difference between the goat and washed goat at wested. I'm looking at an LC in both styles and just need some more info before I pull the trigger. Pics of you jackets would be most helpful.

Once more into the breach....

Ok! Please forgive me, if I am being ignorant here -- but, I only see 'washed lamb' as an offering on Wested's site, and then goat, etc., including the other hides available. This is from viewing their' custom made lines, on the jackets. 'Washed lamb' I know they have, but I am not certain regarding goat in this category. For what it is worth, I have owned a couple of their goat (as well, as lamb and washed lamb) offerings and the goat is one heck of a great jacket -- just don't know about 'washed goat!' Sorry, here. Sounds cool, though :TOH: ! W>

Yea sorry W, I should clarify. Washed goat is an older hide that Wested used to offer. I keep seeing them come up on the secondary market so was just curious about quality.

Washed goat was a heck of an offering back in the day. If you can get your hands on one, I'd recommend it. I'd like to have a washed goat jacket, but they do not offer it anymore. 2008-10 was the target date on that. It was very supple leather, but it did have a slight greenish tint to it. A few years ago, someone from FL was selling theirs, but I've not seen one since.

Yes there was one for sale on eBay which I was rather interested in but with one day left on the auction the seller decided he wanted to keep it. I was all geared up for the bidding war to begin in the last hour. He had no bids so I guess it's his right not to sell but I wish I had put a bid in earlier which I guess would mean he would have to sell it. Lesson learned. Next time it will not get away so easily!
