New/Old USW Antique Lamb
Just received this USW Antique Lamb (Thanks Holt ). Fits like a glove and a fine warm weather alternative to my Wested Novapelle Raiders:
And already replaced the dark USW snaps with antique brass ones:
Thinking about getting it relined now. Just need to find a place in Sydney.

I am so happy it arrived safely! I was alittle worried!
Seeing it on you I am 100% convinced it came to the right person! Fits you like dream! Wish it would fit me as well when I had it. It has such a LC vibe.
Enjoy it!

Hey, it's a "US" Wings jacket. You tell me, lolKt Templar wrote:So in Oz is the zipper on that size the girls side?
Re: New/Old USW Antique Lamb
btw, you have no idea how tempted I was to distress this LC style. It has a very nice tan rusty indertone as you might have noticed.
I still have the same jacket only cowhide. It's one of my fave's

Actually, we've wondered the same thing about the Wested for years, as in the U.S. THEY zip up on the 'girls side', and have always been a point of amusement/ puzzlement to folks over here.
I guess it all depends in what part of the world you live that dictates who looks the silliest!

Now that is what I call a US Wings Jacket! Beautiful.
Re: New/Old USW Antique Lamb
In Australia most of our traditions are English - which is why we drive on the left. Zippers? - I never notice which side they are on as it makes no difference to me. But the fact is our clothing is generally made for international markets so the zip usually follows the American model. I have a $1200 calfskin jacket hand made here in Melbourne that has a USA style zip. Things may have been a little different earlier in the twentieth century when we looked towards Britain as "home."Kt Templar wrote:So in Oz is the zipper on that size the girls side?

I actually just had a look at all my jackets in my closet, and they all zip on the right, the exception being my Wested...

Just got quoted $250 for a jacket relining... Ridiculous.

Likewise you can check here.

Ah, though I just noticed you are in Sydney. The shipping to US repairs would probably cost more than the work.

In the case of Indy jackets (and any with an outside wind flap on the left panel), I like the zipper pull on the left because it's neatly hidden under the wind flap when not zipped.Michaelson wrote:Kt Templar wrote:So in Oz is the zipper on that size the girls side?

Re: New/Old USW Antique Lamb
Once you get used to a left hand pull, either side works for me.

I don't mind the left side pull, either. I just wish all my jackets had it on the same side. I confuse easily!
