Stembridge theory "Front sight & band are from another gun"

I've got a gunsmith looking at photos of the Stembridge gun for a conversion.

The first thing he said is he thinks the band and front sight are from another gun and were installed as a unit.

He's trying to see if he can figure out what gun.

Two years late to the party but any updates to your "Stembridge Theory"?

I still haven't gotten around to doing my Stembridge conversion. That front sight is kind of hard to duplicate.
