Indy jacket fit

Post by Indiana89 »

Hi everyone I am Mauro and have always been a big fan of Indy. I open this topic because I'm undecided which Indy jacket buy, can you explain the differences, especially of fit, of various jackets? For now my choice is more oriented towards the jacket tod, which I think is the one with the tighter fit, especially in the sleeves, right? thanks in advance! :TOH:

Hi Mauro and welcome to COW! As far as jackets and their fit we have quite literally dozens of threads on the topic. I would recommended doing a search and sifting through what suits you. But for a TOD jacket, there are several GREAT ones on here. Holt has a thread somewhere that I couldn't find but he has a good one. Another really good one is this one, owned by Knibs. Im my opinion, a VERY good looking TOD jacket.

Here is that thread:

It also may not hurt to choose a jacket based on your build. If you're a larger chap a ToD look may be quite hard to pull off. Just saying. :TOH:

The fit of an Indy jacket is a difficult thing to get right. It depends really on your body type and shoulders. So if SA isn't a concern I'd go for a well fitting jacket to YOUR body type.

Now, if you are all about an SA fit the Temple jacket is the most fitting jacket. Tight sleeves. thight body. It's a cool jacket but it lacks the coolnes of the flappy back panel as it has no large side vents like the Raiders has. So basicley you loose what we all love about Indy's jacket. This isn't a jacket you can layer much under during winter if you get an SA fit.

The Last Crusade jacket many think as the most baggy one, wasn't. It's actually a good fitted jacket but it has baggy sleeves and can make an illusion of the whole jacket being baggy. It's still roomy enough to layer under.

The Raiders jacket many believe to be a good fitting jacket really isn't. It is the baggiest jacket out of all the 3 films. Ill fitting jacket with droopy shoulders and baggy torso. I'd say go one size bigger in the raiders jacket to get the baggy ill fitting jacket effect.

Example of Raiders being baggy.

Holt gave you a perfect summary of Indy jackets.

We (S&J) can guide you through all the fitting/sizing process to get the jacket you want.
