Looks like fairly nice leather at least.

Thin pattern like a Raiders jacket, meant to look like a LC jacket in cowhide. Straps are too high for a LC and pocket shape/flaps and config are off. Its a reasonable likeness but there is work to do.

I checked around over at filmjackets.com and there was no mention of this company good or bad.

Not particularly cheap for an Indy jacket, lots of other established makers at lower price points. I would like to see at least one picture without the collar popped to see how it lays on the jacket.

What happened to this sentiment? :-k

The big difference to me here is the jacket's cut which is trim like most of the Aero jackets worn on the Fedora Lounge. We're not used to seeing an Indy jacket that has a tailored fit on the shoulders. We're used to oversized seams sitting off the shoulders

(..) Indy jacket is one of the best of Hollywood Vintage Jacket Collection.
We are a Italian small company, but our production is completely handmade in Italy with the best quality of Italian leather.

Indy jacket is realized in Italian cow with a special vintage effect.
The colour is the classic airforce brown, the same of Pearl Harbour jacket and Supernatural jacket.
The lining is realized in best quality of Italian polyestere with two tone of brown, half body in light and half body in medium brown colour....very exclusive. (..)

Oh, I suppose a guy could get a jacket like that, but as I was implying, it is basically a slim, Raiders cut with LC overtones and hardware. You have a mismatch of pattern and features. The tied and true are still worthy.

I have always campaigned for a more accurate jacket, and I'll restate what I have said before. When vendors make copies of copies, there is a tendency for some of the specs to drift, ie wider yoke, pointed flaps, collars amiss. I think its fair to say, thanks for the effort, but this and this could be improved upon. People that take the other opinion would say that close enough is close enough, but if that were the case, then why not just buy an A-2 and call it good? After all, casual fans think the Indy jacket was an A-2? Somehow, that is not what shows up in the forum, though, but people want a likeness of the original. I mean, you don't see guys posting up their gear in an A-2, but usually, from one of the vendors who have been making these for years.

To me, it has sort of amazed me that from the start, vendors did not look at film to see what it actually was, and then try to copy it, if they had no insight as to the original, or were not handed the specs. Just as people like and enjoy their historically accurate A-2's with the quirks and slight variations from contractor to contractor, I too believe it is reasonable to want a historically accurate Indy jacket to film. What I have attempted achieve in my posts has been to suggest to others that they should forget about what they 'thought' the jacket was, any preconceived ideas, and just view it as it actually was. This removes the clouds, and lo and behold, we can really 'see' it.

All of this happened because, as you may well be aware, member after member used to receive their jackets and then complain that they were not accurate, or did not really look like the jacket in film, that the specs were off, or their jackets were too shiny, the under skin was gray, etc., which is what everyone wanted in the first place, and these features are what distinguished the Indy jacket from an A-2, or any other.

Whether or not a repro is made with all the quirks like the Hero, or if the pattern is modified to make it a more correct fitting jacket, I still like to see that the details are correct, and in the end, that is what members wanted on the whole. If you are going to make a Raiders jacket, then make a Raiders jacket, and not some other variation. People want a good copy of the Indy jacket, and not an A-2. There are plenty of companies making A-2's these days, but only a few that do justice to the Indy jacket, and there needs to be differentiation, features that make it different from any other.

Well said, Tex. Also, everybody focuses on different things. I particularly like the higher, smaller yoke with pleats reaching higher on the back of the shoulder. Many folks don't care but that was one of the characteristics that drew me to the jacket in the first place.

Leather drape, weight, color, grain, ... collar, pockets, hardware, collar stand, pocket flaps, zipper waves, non -facing, inside pocket, there's a lot to get right. :-k

God, those side straps are about a mile up, and the storm flap buttons are nickel-sized! :Dietrich:

I ordered that jacket most recently, this is what my experience was...

ordering:
It was quick and and friendly

delivery/packing:
nice packed fairly fast shippment from Italy to Austria

the jacket:
it was much brighter than it appeared in the picture, although they granted me in my emails, that it is exactly the colour as pictured.
It was similar to some novapelle jackets I have seen from wested, but much brighter. The distressing was fairly nice done, although a bit much for my taste
The inlay was made from 2 toned polyester (one tone in the top, one in the lower part). I did not liked it as it was very un-Indy
Although I strictly measured myself acording to their chart, with wearing a shirt, the jacket was MUCH TOO BIG and especcialy too long
The quallity of manufacturing was good to very good by an overall view
in the end, I decided to send it back

return:
basically the return policys are great: free shipping and returns in inner Europe, what a great chance to dare order one, so I thought. The reply to my email that I don't like the collour, that it is not fitting and that it was not what I was expecting was that they insited that I did the measuring wrong and that their jacket is great as everybody in Europe likes it.
Aranging the return was uncomplicated, a mail man was sent to pick up the package.

BUT

It had been 5 weeks since the company got back their parcell and I still have no refund. They allready told me twice they are about to send me back my money. To this day, nothing happened, they even stopped answering my emails as I started to complain about it. It seems I have to hand over this case to a law professional now

*EDIT* After seeking law assistance I got back my money pretty quick. After waiting allmost 2 months!

If anybody ever is thinking of ordering one from there, this little review of my experience might be helpful wether or not to purchase there

I personally like having the back of the collar propped up. :D
As for the jacket, the pattern looks ok, all except for the buttons. The buttons don't look the greatest on a Raiders jacket (plus they look a little funny to be LC buttons).

Leather looks like motorcycle jacket leather, which I don't personally care for. :?
I would go with a Todd's or a Wested in substitute, especially for that price! :-0
