Ugh, I hate seeing such nice jackets then hearing that they are heavy. It's so hot and humid most of the year here that heavy jackets just don't get much use! But a very cool looking jacket indeed!

Many thanks! The cowhide jacket seems heavy to lift and put in coat hanger... but when I wear it, I don't feel it.
I own a LC Wested jacket in lambskin , and, in comparison, the cow don't seems many warmer as it ,on me, in fact...And mornings are fresh in my région!

Well, considering leather is more of a wind breaker rather than an insulator for heat, it's no surprise you can't tell any difference in terms of heat retention. ;)

It's a great shade - darker than typical. Very nice!

Could be totally wrong but it think that is a standard 'Raiders' rather than a Hero.

Yes, I'm...The haversack wearing is inversed, more practical for everyday use for me...Well observed Knibs7!

Same deal in Georgia... or anywhere in the South, for that matter! That's why I enjoy my old-school thin novapelle jacket, because it has 'the look' plus its light weight is much more forgiving in the heat & humidity, despite that it's only worn in the cool autumn and winter.

The Wested Pre-Distressed jacket is, in my opinion, the best lookin' Indy jacket by far. Once you darken it and it gradually gets lighter, the distressed 'characteristics' make for an awesome 'Indiana Jones' jacket indeed - it looks like it is 20 years old, been on tons of adventures, etc. This is one hide that I hope Wested NEVER discontinues! :) Personally speaking, I've worn goatskin, lamb, and cowhide Indy jackets and, yeah its not as lightweight as lamb, its certainly not a 'heavy coat' by any stretch. Overall, its just a very nice 'jacket' and well worth the money...

I entirely agree with this.
I also have three wested in authentic lambskin and the look is not as good as predistressed cowhide with time, even with artificially distressing the jacket.
The predistressed cowhide leather from Wested is becoming more and more beautiful with normal wearing in time...Particularly on sleeves pleats...

Yes, the leather is a wonderful windbreaker, but for warmth, you have to add the under layer or a sweater/jumper...nice photos!

Has the pre-distressed hide changed any over the years? I have a Wested Wolverine jacket from 2008 in the pre-distressed hide.
