Aldens Laces Length

Post by Bruce Wayne »

I recently cleaned up my Aldens after not wearing them for a couple years & I need to know what length laces to get.

Thanx!!!

Personally I use 45" versions. The longer versions are just TOO much lace for me.

I usually use the standard size 54" laces, but I agree that they are pretty long. Although I never use the top eyelet (which makes the length problem worse) I double knot the bow which takes up a lot of the extra length.

I have one pair on which I use 72" laces but I tie those with a full wrap around the top of the boot AND a double bow.

If you contact Alden at general@aldenshoe.com directly, they'll send you new laces gratis, no math required.

That information used to be posted on the main site in the FAQ's before the rebuild, as it was information I gathered back when I was part of the old 'IndyDiggs' website and we were contacting original manufacturers and vendors of gear. Alden's has always done that as a high end shoe maker.

They also did it through their official shoe stores as well.

Well, the timing for me was perfect, as my laces are about to break. I emailed them today asking for help in terms of length, and they are going to send them to me for free.
Thanks for the tip!!
