The Indy "dress" suits

Post by jcm0687 »

Fairly new to site, pleased with information garnered concerning the "archeologist's" work clothes (happy to say I have the coat, shirt, pants, belt and shoes - fedora is in the works). Now, I'm seeking some other information that I'm sure exits out there somewhere (if previously discussed on this website then I've missed it). Interested in the suits, yes suits, that Indiana wears when teaching at Marshall college and at the end of the movie when he's coming down the steps with Marion (wearing his grey fedora). Any suggestions on where to purchase or even begin researching for a screen accurate Indy suit?

One of the best resources for ordering accurate Indy suits is Magnoli Clothiers:

Marshall College suit: http://www.magnoliclothiers.com/marshal ... -p-38.html

Washington ending suit: http://www.magnoliclothiers.com/washing ... -p-35.html

Thanks for the quick feedback. The Magnoli clothiers website looked pretty darn good. The threads you referred me to also were very informative. Any experience with Magnoli clothiers as far as quality, material, etc.? I'll be contacting them to learn more about their suits.

Thanks again for the help, do appreciate it.

Virtually everywhere you look around here. Just do a search on his name in whatever topic you are interested in.

(N.B. He used to market a Herbert Johnson fedora reblocked by Steve Delk, but discontinued that about 4 years ago.)

Magnoli is a real custom tailor. His product is top quality, his customer service is excellent, and he stands behind his work. Plus, if you have something in mind, whether it's a modification on one of his products, a different material, or something you have that's worn out and isn't made anymore, as long as you can provide enough information he can make pretty much anything you want. :TOH:

I have a Magnoli LC suit I got off a member here. Absolutely first rate. Sure as heck beats my regular suits in every department including comfort.

I'll echo the same. Magnoli's stuff is top shelf and beautifully made.

Ditto on Magnoli!

1. He's a member here at COW

2. He's an Indy fan with attention to detail. (as most are)

3. He knows his haberdashery and his fan base.

4. Clothing is his business.

Check out some of his posts here on the forum and you'll get an idea of his involvement in creating screen accurate clothing with quality that likely exceeds anything used in front of the cameras.

I have always recommended Magnoli highly. The main thing is to make sure you get measured by somebody who knows what they are doing. Fantastic stuff, and great service!
