My 2nd to Last Temple jacket

Post by knibs7 »

Here is my latest Temple of Doom jacket. I have one more coming from Diego and that should be my LAST Temple jacket. I ordered it just in case this jacket wasn't to my liking, but I'm more than satisfied.

Comments are welcome :TOH:

That's a really nice Temple Jacket Knibs. I mean, really nice.

Who's the maker?

Small collar and pockets are great, and I really like the distressing. :TOH:

Looks 100% screen accurate to me! Now go steal some magical glowing stones from a satanic underground cult!

I really love the Temple of Doom jacket, and I'm hoping Diego's offerings are awesome.
This is a Wested, yes? It's nice, and the distressing is first-class; you're the best at that, Knibs!
However, I can tell it suffers from the usual Wested 'big-armholes'.
The 'Pit-to-pocket' ratio is way off.
Check out the classic pic of Indy reaching for the stones in the skull; it's a long jacket, and the armhole
is way up from the pocket. That's how it's supposed to be. Slim sleeves, small armholes.
Wested can never get it right. I had the prototype they copied from the screen jacket, and it still wasn't right (nice though!).
Hopefully Diego can pull it off, and if they do, I'll be in line for an Indy jacket again.

*edit- 'Pit-to-Pocket' Distance, rather than ratio. I can see the ratio of armpits to pockets is correct!

Given Kyle's complaint about DHL charges in the thread he says he received a Wested jacket, I'd say it's a Wested.

Correct. It's a Wested. I took out the label because when I was distressing it on the back, a rectangle outline started to appear where the label was.
As for the arm holes, I think it may be how I have the jacket laid out on the floor because they feel anything but big. They are literally hugging my armpit and are so tight that I am having a hard time getting the "rolled sleeve" effect. BUT if this isn't the case and the arm holes are in fact, too big, then like you said, hopefully Diego will get his version correct.

Dragged it behind a truck and rolled it thru a rock crusher? :-k

No conveyer belt. However, I did drag it behind a truck and jumped out of a plane with it. Then, I went rafting over a cliff into a river. After that, I just exposed it to the jungles of Sri Lanka... er, I mean "India."

(And i MIGHT have used sandpaper, a wire brush and acetone) :-$
