Last Crusade Tie
Hey Gents,
anybody know what type of knot is used on Indys tie in Last crusade. Windsor or double Windsor would be my guess.
Random question I know but I want the look.
Thanks

Here's a discussion from a couple of years ago.

Reading that thread again, I think the four-in-hand knot had the most votes...Indiana Jeff wrote:Here's a discussion from a couple of years ago.

I HATE looking at example schematics like the one showing the different ways to tie the knot in the linked thread.
Being BEHIND the knot as you tie it makes you wonder, 'Ok, so what the @#$% AM I tying these days?!" after seeing that chart.

I got very good at it back in the 70's, but would have to practice to get it right again now.

Re: Last Crusade Tie
OK, I can see that this is a contentions subject from the last thread mentioned above but I will go out on a limb here. Despite what Indy uses, the width of the knot should be dictated by the spread of the collar. If it is a narrow spread collar use a Four-in-Hand. If it is a wide spread collar use a Full Windsor. I generally wear a 1/2 Windsor myself with modern dress shirts though I have never put a tie on with one of my Indy shirts. If you can see the portions of the tie going around your neck at the sides, the knot isn't wide enough, use the next wider knot. Maybe no SA but good advice none the less!

Re: Last Crusade Tie
Also the 1/2 Windsor tends to come out more symmetrical than the Four-in-Hand which is another reason why I like it.

So I'm going with Four in the Hand because I think it should be a little "off" for Indy. Here's a couple pics. Wearing Thrift store tie Italian silk, Todds shirt, Wested Jacket, Fed 4

Re: Last Crusade Tie
Of course he would! But that particular tie is blended with wool as well...

Irish Poplin
A fabric comprising a pure silk warp face over a fine worsted wool weft. This quality has been produced by Atkinsons to Royal and international acclaim for over 180 years.
