Has anyone actually gone to Wested's shop in Kent to get their jacket?
I will be in London in March and thought I would just go down and see them.
Curious what type of experiences people have had. And also any advice.
Thanks,

Been there a few times though years ago. Peter was always very friendly and accommodating though I would probably think it best ro ring ahead.

I went last summer and went over jacket specs in person with Peter. Both Peter and Gemma were very generous and delightful to meet. I agree, let them know when you'd like to come so your schedules don't get crossed.
Their shop is a quick train ride from London and short taxi from the station. Nothing pretentious, but the great smell of leather, racks of jackets, stacks of hides, and nice people. Peter was very generous with his time and took notes on all my requests. With racks of jackets, it's easy to describe what you're looking for and get the details sorted out.
I have only good memories of the morning and the highest regard for Wested as a result.

For those who went there did you leave with the jacket? Will they accommodate minor tailoring for those who are there?

If you go during the week, they have machinists working and can adjust sleeves in a short time.
If you would like to see Peter make sure you call before to see if he is in, he often is out and about and I don't think he works every day now.
IIRC your best bets are Friday and Saturday (Peter is usually covers Saturday), but Saturday opening is 9 til 1 and there are no machinists around.

Visiting Wested is always a joy. Even if you leave without a jacket (which is very hard!)

Peter was VERY accommodating! He showed me around the shop AND his grounds. He even gave me a ride to the train! Great experience.

HI, I've visited Wested several times.Peter has always been helpful,a real ruff diamond.I would recommend wested leather. Bought a Raiders jacket off the peg, went back a year later for some alteration, I left the jacket there in the morning, peter was going in to east London and gave me a lift.I visited a couple of his freinds on the way in and he dropped me off.All very enjoyable!Spent the day looking round London and then a train back to Wested. When I returned my jacket was waiting.Fantastic!
If you get the chance to meet Peter, you should.A real player in the Indy legend.

If I ever end up at his shop, I'm going straight to his PC to check his internet connection.
