Michaelson may like this. Restoring 7 year old Wested
Recently, my buddy Ben (fifthchamber) decided to distress his jacket, which made me want to restore mine. Here's some shots. Albums ahead, decent sized shots, so be warned. Mods, I apologize ahead of time if I'm doing this wrong.

After 2nd coat, brown Pecards: http://imgur.com/a/cjfjp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Thought you guys would get a kick out of it.

Great pics!
Yep, Michaelson loves the stuff. I think he even spreads it on his toast

That reminds me of the Weird Al Yankovic song 'The White Stuff':
But I love the filling most
I rub it on my roast
Mix it in with my coffee and spread it on my toast
Except this is Pecards dressing, not Oreo cream filling.

Yeah, it's gotta be like using Vaseline like with the Flaming Lips song of the same name.

I think you mean "She Don't Use Jelly".Tennessee Smith wrote:

Vaseline is just mentioned in the refrain, repetitively. It gets the glory, so to speak.

What? Who? Me?
Bravo!
Just did that to my 2001 lambskin Expo prototype and it looks brand new again. All I had to use was the leather creme, though, which has little beeswax, and all the distressed marks completely disappeared without having to use the brown Pecards.
GREAT stuff, isn't it?
HIGH regards! Michaelson

Though there is a "Vaseline" by Stone Temple Pilots.Mountaineer wrote:I think you mean "She Don't Use Jelly".Tennessee Smith wrote:

Wow that Pecard's stuff is like magic!

Thanks, all! It is magic, isn't it, Duck? It's still curing now. I gave it a light buffing, but I like letting the stuff soak in on its own. I might even go over it again. :p

Don't go TOO heavy, Tuck. Once leather reaches its saturation point, it remains on the surface and remain tacky rather than continuing to soak in.
The extra can be either buffed off (with a LOT of elbow grease and effort) or liquified with a hair dryer and wiped down, THEN re-buffed.
Personally I think you're right where you need to be. You're right at the 'sweet spot' now.

Thanks for the tip, Michaelson. I know better than to go against your advice by now. Otherwise, I'd be hiding under the Plymouth!

I imagine it's getting pretty crowded under there after all these years of COW'ers diving for cover.

Thanks for this topic. I have a Wested that I bought used and I hope to restore it a bit using some pecards.
