My New LC jacket
I've gotten a few messages about the details of my LC jacket, so I thought I'd go ahead and share a few pics. I got it brand new, but I hardly ever let my jackets age naturally. (The only one I've let be is my TN CS and that's mainly bc it looks almost brand new in the movie )
Anyway, it's a Wested in Authentic Brown Lamb. I absolutely LOVE it!! The only thing I would change is that the arm holes have double stitching and should be single. Is there any way the sleeves can be taken off and re-sewn so that they're single stitched? Or am I just SOL?
I'll try to get some pics of the back of the jacket soon.

Re: My New LC jacket
Agreed. I haven't had a Indy jacket for a while now and that one has me itching...
Re: My New LC jacket
That Wested actually looks like an LC jacket when most of the putative LC jackets don't. Looks like the one that used to be in the Smithsonian. The pockets and collar look great, I'd forget about the seams.

Re: My New LC jacket
Yeah, leave the sleeves as is. You could have them altered to fix the stitching, but
A. you stand a really good chance of the sleeves getting messed up and
B. leather isn't 'self sealing' so you'd still see the stitch holes and they would only serve to create a significant weak point in the jacket.

Indiana Jeff

Re: My New LC jacket
Did you give Wested a laundry list of specs or is this their LC pattern?
Re: My New LC jacket
It can't be their LC pattern - which has to date never looked like an actual movie LC jacket. More of a CS jacket with narrow pockets and the wrong flaps, etc.Hollowpond wrote:Did you give Wested a laundry list of specs or is this their LC pattern?
Re: My New LC jacket
Yes, I had them shape the pockets differently

I guess that's why I'm so hesitant to order from Wested. They seem soooo hit and miss. This one is certainly a hit though and if I could get one just like that I'd order today...

Well this was my 4th attempt from Wested at a Last Crusade jacket and they FINALLY got it rightHollowpond wrote:I guess that's why I'm so hesitant to order from Wested. They seem soooo hit and miss. This one is certainly a hit though and if I could get one just like that I'd order today...

Any chance you could send out the exact specs you sent to Wested?

Re: My New LC jacket
Exactly my point. I'm telling ya, if they could repro that one JUST like that (pattern wise anyways, I'll distress it myself...) they'd have my money now.knibs7 wrote:Well this was my 4th attempt from Wested at a Last Crusade jacket and they FINALLY got it rightHollowpond wrote:I guess that's why I'm so hesitant to order from Wested. Oh well, it seems that me and the Indy jacket are just not meant to be...
Re: My New LC jacket
I know what you mean. They now finally make a raiders that's very close (thanks to a Nowak) and perversely they make a great ToD (thanks to a loan of the movie one). Wested are nice people but their patterns have a history of being unlike the film jackets.
I went with a G&B goat as it is close enough and tough enough for real life.
That LC makes you imagine how great Wested could be.

Re: My New LC jacket
So Knibs when you say the jacket is made of , "Anyway, it's a Wested in Authentic Brown Lamb. I absolutely LOVE it!! " is that different from what Wested calls their Lambtouch?
Re: My New LC jacket
Yes it's different. Their Lambtouch is cowhide

Without getting OCD about insignificant specs, that is what a LC jacket looks like to me...
