LL Bean's dress chinos - where's the taupe?!

Post by Solent MKIII »

When the heck are these guys going to bring back the taupe chinos again? I'd order a pair right now if they only had this color in stock ( can't afford a pair of Magnoli's yet, and I snoozed too long and missed out on Todd's version ](*,) ).

Thanks. :TOH: Yeah, it looks like the closest color they still carry is the dark khaki, but I think the old taupe was a much closer match. I'll dig around for some of the comparison threads later on to check out colors.

If you can get around the no flap pockets, these are really comfortable and I dug in these a couple of seasons. Your local Wal-Mart sells them. The closest color to the Raiders pants in 'bark'. Woof. I've found that khakis/chinos are more comfy to dig in than jeans. That one is free by the way.... :P

Cool - I'll check 'em out next time I'm at Wally World. As for the pocket flaps - yeah, I do want those, but I can always pick up a second pair of pants to sacrifice for that!

I agree with fellow Texan, Texan Scott, the Wrangler's from WalMart are a nice fitting pant and look good with the Alden Indy Boots. And they are less than $25.

Another option some members have used is to buy a pair extra long and use the excess cuff material to make pocket flaps.

That's true. If a guy is a 32 or something and you get a 34 or 36 length, they could take the excess and make some flaps. What amazed me about these pants is they are taupe/gray, and seem to change colors in different light.

Here's a shot of them in action (they really do get used) :P
