Everyday carry whip?

Hi, I am looking at a 3ft. snake whip. I am looking into Nylon or leather. Would one be able to coil up tighter then the other? Really want it to fit in a pocket. Thanks

I have several snakewhips ranging from a David Morgan Dog Quirt (which, when given a longer fall, makes the perfect pocket whip that cracks and hurts and can be used for self preservation if needed) to some 5 and 6 footers which coil up very nice and small. All are made from leather. I also have a couple of regular style nylon whips but they are in longer lengths but i cannot imagine them being as supple as the leather ones to be able to coil up a snake version to put into your pocket, although they do seem to be big sellers with some vendors. I am willing to bet that most of those customers do not carry them around daily though. I am telling you from experience that the DM quirt with the fall replaced would be exactly what your looking for. If you are concerned about distance, then a custom snakewhip would be the way to go.

Thanks for the reply. You answered alot of questions. That DM Quirt looks perfect. Now im trying to find a difference in a Signal whip, and a Snake whip. Can you still crack signal whips?

I never had a signal whip but I understand that the cracker is braided into the whip at the end. I have read that they act the same but I was always concerned about the cracker coming off and then having to braid a new one in. .....I know I can't do that so I stayed away from them.
I like to be able to quickly repair my whip on the spot if I am needing it in the moment!

I emailed DM to see if they can replace the lash with a fall, and cracker. Im getting my first whip in the mail tomorrow, and already looking to get another. Already addicted. Thanks for the info

In recent time i made few EDC snake whip. Here some pics...







For first two, i have good feedback from customer about every day use, and concealed carry. Whips crack very good, despite small length. First is 130 cm, second 110 cm, and last is 80 cm.

The guy who owns [url][http://www.caicedoswhips.com/url] had some videos of him cracking some really tiny whips. They could be used as hat bands they were so small.

I've made three 'EDC' whips over the last couple of years... The latest being constructed of 1/8" Dacron (think of paracord, but smaller)... I'm lovin' it. It's 4', with a 24" traditional-style twisted Dacron fall... And a cracker made from a material as durable as powerpro, but with properties that make it very similar to horsehair. It actually has a 3 1/2" handle to help keep it from spinning around in my pocket, and the handle gives a bit more control... Without sacrificing size too much. This baby has two full plaited bellies, a 16-plait overlay, and utilizes a full-length lead-shot-loaded core. The ring knots are red paracord with reflective tracers. I think I'll be making its twin soon, but with indigo blue paracord with the same reflective tracers.



Here's the whip it replaced, pretty much the same size. The knob is covered on this one, with Gray flecked Paracord. An AA battery is shown for scale. These can be rolled up to a diameter of 5"-6"... The maximum diameter at the handle is less than 5/8".

Right on Pyramidblaster! I have one of Kyle`s Pocketbulls and loved the extra small handle on it. Really helped with control. How much are you selling these guys for. They are really nice.

All tried and tested as everyday carriers. The DM quirt was the most practical in terms of use and actually carriying around. It rolls up very small and tight but the small handle on the PB gives a better control value. That`s why I`d be very interested in a dog quirt style with a small handle.
