Part of the Alden Club..

Post by Beechy McFly »

I'm finally part of the Alden Club.. I was looking for some "close enough" boots, but decided to bite the bullet on a pair of Aldens.. I just won an auction on eBay earlier this morning, which I won for $300.. Don't know if it was a member from here, but I can't wait to have them in hand.. Now the display can have SA boots too, just hope they fit, as I have a wide foot.. Here's pics of them from the auction:

Congrats on the new acquisition

My only suggestion is to buy some cedar tree shoes. They'll help with them keeping their shape and drying out after wearing them. :TOH:

Thanx for the suggestion.. I'll grab look for a set on eBay..

Been reading up peoples threads about distressing the boots up, and getting them more SA.. Really hate doing this type of thing, as I know I usually end up messing it all up..

Nope, just enjoy them 'as is'. They'll take on YOUR look as you use them and wear them.

And I concur with Michaelson. Don't worry about distressing them, there's no need to fake the age. Enjoy them with "your" mileage :TOH:

Congrats on an excellent acquisition! I was actually watching this auction myself but I'm not quite ready to bite the Alden bullet. I'm sure I'll get there eventually. Enjoy the boots! \:D/

Aloha mate.. Nodda yet.. They are in transit, coming from California to Sydney, Australia; so will take a little while.. Hopefully will get them soon.. I've also got a pair of Cedar Tree Shoes on the way, which Dude recommend I get as well:

But, I'll take pics as soon as they arrive..

They look pretty #### good.. Unfortunately, they don't fit.. They are pretty big in length.. They're size 11, where I'm usually about a 9.5.. But they are tight in the width.. I've got a pretty wide foot, like a 4E-5E, which is why I normally get bigger shoes..

But, they'll look great on the display..

I believe they are.. Had a look, and it says 11 B/D. so take that to be a "B" width..

Thanx.. It's getting there.. I should have had most of it by now, but over spent, by a lot, on Christmas presents for my bubba boy; but, he does come first.. Trying to sell a few pieces of the other Collections, to get some more $$ together for it, though, also been raising $$, and spending $$, on my Back to the Future Monopoly I'm working on, which is getting there too..
