A quick comment about the Wested cowhide

Post by ob1al »

Having owned my dark-brown cowhide for around 6 months, I just want to pass comment on the pleasing way these jackets 'break-in'. The leather is incredibly soft and supple now, and there is just the slightest signs of distressing (all natural of course - I wear this everyday!).

I have applied a little pecards a couple of times, but nothing extreme - these really are great jackets which just look and feel so much better with lots of wear!

It's funny how these jackets have a way of 'hooking' you - I just don't feel right if I 'm not wearing my wested! I suspect they have the habit of becoming the staple part of every owners wardrobe!

The only downside to the cowhide compared to my Lambskin is the extra weight, if I was pushed - but I still grab for the cowhide habitually every morning and it doesn't bother me at all.

You never loose sight of how cool these jackets are, even after a long spell of constant wear. That's the sign of a true high quality item!

So, nothing substantial to add to the 'gear legend' with this post - just the simple feedback of a happy wested owner. :)

I've also had my dark brown cowhide for 6 months.

I wish the thing would wear in more.
I percarded (is that a word :D ) heavily when I first got it.

I've worn it 6 months straight, with no caution or care, thrown it on the couch/floor/chairs and left it in a heap when I'm not wearing it - and it still looks brand new.

I'm gonna have to drag myself behind a truck.

SAB - Have you had much rain over there in Australia? I think the rain helps to imbue a 'weathered' feel to the jacket somehow.

Well done, though giving away our 'beauty secrets' (in my case. Jess is a lost cause, though, but his efforts are duly noted. ) may not be a good thing. :? :D  Regards. Michaelson
