When I heard that they were doing their take on the British Agent's new jacket from 'Skyfall', I had to go and take a look. 30's style and cropped, it's a nice one to add to the collection.
It's known is the 'Enjoying Death' sequence by the Bond fans. From the Scorpion and drink scene (a Duralex glass again!). To the talk with M when he finds out Mi6 has sold his apartment and put all his belongings in storage.
It's a regular offering at £145. Bargain!
@Indy original, yes it's the leather they mention on the site.
I think that's the antique lambtouch. Did you do anything to it Jason? I have to admit I've been very tempted by this one - as an alternative to the Indy.

I gave the collar and the sleeve straps a good wet down, then rubbed the raised parts of the jackets with a scotchbrite/nylon dish scourer. The antique lambtouch responds well to it.
I like the look of this jacket, but I wonder if they would be willing to modify it as a double-breasted, notched peacoat type collar? The back of the jacket rocks with that half belt config!
The 2 pleats near the yoke is interesting? Is the jacket comfortable with that high yoke? If I am not mistaken, the yoke was designed to cover the curvature of the shoulders to the point where the jacket 'drops off' to the waist.
That's fantastic ... Way nicer than the "officially licensed" version. Those were not so much distressed as they were damaged. The leather was garbage.
This looks exceptional! Great job Wested (and KT)!!
Very nice. If I didn't already have a Surrogates (FJ Bruno model) I'd be all over one of these. I'd have to have Wested ship it through KT though to get it looking pretty.
Looks like a pretty nice replica. They did a pretty good job getting the taper into the collar which is one of the subtle things that really makes the jacket what it is.
I bought one of the Levi's Vintage ones last year and immediately bought a second as a backup. It's pretty much become my every day jacket in preference to three TNOs and my Kelso.
The originals are made from very distressed sheepskin. I wouldn't call it damaged or garbage anymore than I would call a jacket that someone has attacked with steel wool, acetone and sandpaper damaged or garbage, but it's definitely got a distinct look and feel to it. It's basically a lightweight sheepskin windbreaker.
Nice one KT, the jacket certainly caught my eye the first time I saw the film
Looks like a good excuse to swing by the barn next time I'm down your way.

Perhaps there was considerable variation in the quality. Mine arrived looking like leather from the bottom of a dumpster, with the lining drooping out, just an altogether shameful offering at the price. Thankfully it was returned. Glad to hear some were good.
Nice jacket. KT, I believe you now have a distressed and an undistressed lambstouch. Is there much of a difference? Would the distressed make a good LC jacket?

Hi kwad. I can only comment on what looks good to me, and I like the throwback look of the sleeves and the half belt back with action pleats; but to me, the front looks too plain, so my "fix" was to add the pea coat type, notched collar, and double breasted features. Because the db is basically an open lapel jacket, you might need insulation. I just imagine what it might look like in dark novapelle. This would be what I would really like to order from Wested. Its just what I see in the mind's eye.
I have the Menlo jacket and I would say that looks pretty spot on. Doesn't look quite as supple, but still a very nice copy. I was lucky enough to get mine at cost as I own a retail store. The $900 retail is really steep. I'm actually thinking about selling mine as the sleeves are a tad long. Good score
Greetings all fellow Indy fans! I've just joined this site. I've been Indy mad since Raiders first appeared on our screens and have had numerous Wested jackets. I've got photos somewhere of a couple of them which I'll have to post soon.
Also, I've just managed to acquire a Sideshow Premium Format Crystal Skull Indy for a great price - £200 - and it is awesome! Am I the only one who likes that movie? Every time I watch it, it seems better. Maybe it's just a case of needing 20 years to get used to it!!

See you all soon!
Welcome, itsnottheyears. Yes, you might be the only one who likes Crystal Skull. Just kidding. I'll watch it again in 15 years and let you know how I think it holds up. Definitely post some photos of your Wested jackets, but post in your own thread. Cheers.
Yup, I've been to Peters Bros. Neat place. Not so much a shop you can buy stuff spur of the moment, but great place to order a custom made hat and shoot the breeze.
Hey, KT, how's that jacket working out for you? I'm pretty tempted as a half-belt fan. How's the leather?

Been doing very well, it's joined the day to day rotation!

Hi KT , hope you don't mind being quoted from another thread. Would you say this sheep leather is closer to the one used for the original LVC jacket because of the color , texture , distressing ability ? Any chance you could share pics of this new Wested offer ?

Sadly I don't take a pic. It is a soft antiqued sheep. And yes, it looks like the same leather they use on the LVC, without the extra distressing that LVC do.
I don't want to oversell it but it's very, very nice.
Thanks for the quick reply and for bringing so often further explanations on Wested hides.
One more point :
Kt Templar wrote:... the same leather they use on the LVC, without the extra distressing that LVC do...
Do you mean that Wested soft antiqued sheep looks like :
- the LVC leather where the topcoat still remains ( shiny areas around pockets , zipper , halfbelt ...)
- the LVC leather where it's almost suede like because of the over-distressing

It looks like the leather minus the sueding. But it still has some antiquing.
