Finally in the Fedora Club..

Post by Beechy McFly »

Aloha all.. Just thought I'd throw up some pics of my Cairo Fedora, by Penman Hats Co..

Slowly working on my Indy Raiders costume, but it's getting there.. Need to see work on distressing a few items, and to get around to grabbing a David Morgan Bullwhip sometime soon..

Still getting use to camera, so not the best pics, but here's one using old camera which shows the fedora in better lighting:

Lovely!

You might want to bend the brim down though...It's not meant to be left flat like that...John's hats can take a good beating, so fold the front edge down until you think it looks fine...The rear will raise a touch and the overall look will be far closer to the movie!

That aside, great stuff! :TOH:

Yeah, I've been looking at Raider pics trying to work out how the brim is bent etc, then I'll give it bit of a tweak..

I think it's how it has been resting on the dummy.

For Pete's sake John! He is one of your customers. Should you really be referring to him as a 'dummy' :rolling: ? Sorry, couldn't resist this one. And here, I thought he was 'The Invisible Man!' ! Nice looking hat! Another great Pennman experience! W>

:rolling: It's definitely the way it's sitting too.. Need to get a nice Indy bust to put on a mannequin so it can sit properly..

Like I said "Sorry, couldn't resist..." I'll say this -- THAT hat is 'no dummy!' You have an incredible eye for detailing re: the distressing of your Cario Models, John! Very good eye! And, I too, would like to see it on your customer and not just the manikin. W>

So, do you actually wear this fedora, or was it for display only? :-k

At present, it'll be a display piece.. When I've lost some weight, I'll probably wear it to some conventions, not many here in Sydney though..

Understood. :M:

Well, you've got a good example to wear when you do decide to wear it. May as well go for quality the first time out of the gate!

I understand as well, but do look forward to seeing pics on you and not just the display! Really a superb hat you have there! Looks great with your gear! W>
