Close enough pants

Post by ChrisMD »

Hey guys i need big man size 48x29 pants and I cant see to find them anywhere. Todd's stop at like 42 i think, and Magnoli Clothiers is OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive. I wouldnt spend $175 on pants if they were made by Harrison Ford. An reason why they charge so much for everything on the site?

My problem is, i put on weight after having a nasty stress fracture last year. Finally back i the gym im steadily losing weight so i need some cheap pants, because ill be buying again in a few months. Any suggestions? Im really only worried about first look accuracy. Color and style. Zipper fly doesn't bother me, as well as the other subtle things. Just some "close enoughs". Any ideas?

If you're basically worried a bout first looks these come to mind...

LLBean comes and go on their dress chinos. (Search the forum, I know there are a bunch of threads on them.
Dockers almost always has close enough colors.

Either will set you back ~$40.

The biggest challenge when looking for close enough pants are pocket flaps on both sides.

That's why the LLBean are referenced so often. They are one of the few OTR brands that have flaps.

If you're not worried about the flaps, check any of your local retailers, taupe colored pants aren't hard to find and likely cheaper than the Land's End or LLBean.

The average person on the street or in the workplace isn't going to notice the difference between khakis and officer pinks. It's only the freaks from this forum who will chastise you for inaccuracy.

I was thinking the same thing. With my luck ill stumble across a COW group somewhere in my "close enough" pants and take a beating. :) Heck I feel like an outsider for loving all three movies equally. Im not on the Raiders bandwagon as much as most people, but what a heck of a movie. TOD is my childhood favorite.
