Show your STEELE & JONES "Cazadora '36"

Post by Indiego Jones »

Since our jackets started arriving these days, I open this thread so you can show them.

The following pictures are from a spanish Indy fan in Barcelona, who received his jacket last week and sent this pictures to us, so we could share them with you.

Hope you enjoy them.

I really like the way he did the 'time line' from delivery to actually on. Which jacket is this? Your 'ribby' or the regular lamb? W>

Thank you so much for the kind words.
The leather is our Ribby Merino Lambskin. You can tell looking close at the pocket, on the side shot, where you can see the grain.

Thanks for the clarification Indiego...kinda thought it was the Ribby Merino, but wanted to be certain. Looks great! And, before you call me on this one -- I still owe you a picture with my LC Hat...which by the way is looking really good! But, that is not what this post is about. Great work on the jackets. Agree with John -- your packaging concept is superb  ! Very authentic to period pieces! W>

This are pictures of different jackets. So you can see the variety in grain in different hides.
It is important to understand that doesn’t exist 2 identical sheeps, so there aren't equal ribs marks or leather textures, exactly, in each jacket. That’s impossible.
Each jacket is one of a kind.
I took the photos making changes in lighting and angles, to illustrate the variations in color perception.

note: zipper is nº5 YKK nickel (NOT brass)

Only this first picture is from the same jacket posted before.

Review:

CAZADORA '36
"Since 2006 I've owned quite a number of Indiana Jones Jackets from other manufacturers. All the while I've been searching for the perfect Raiders of the Lost Ark jacket with all it's perculiar features, each of which is necessary in order to get the 'look'. Id begun to give up hope! Finally, Steele and Jones have produced an affordable jacket that fits the bill perfectly. The collar hangs off the back of the neck just as we see in the film, the leather is textured in the right places but not like a piece of snake skin and the hide is light in weight so that it drapes and flows like a fabric - just as we see in Raiders (and even more so when watching the Bluray!). Due to the nature of the leather, which replicates what's seen on screen, this is not the most robust jacket I've owned but it is far and away the most accurate in appearance. Great work guys from a satisfied customer."

That's size 40. (Ford's size)

Yes, we offer jackets with or without distressing.
We match distressing details according to HD screencaps from the movie.

I got my Cazadora the friday before the last from Roberto, and I've been using it almost everyday since. Soft, lightweight lambskin, ideal for spring/summer down here. It's been through its first (light) rain already. Comfortable, screen acurate jacket. I wanted to wait until I had better pictures, but it's been almost two weeks now and I can't get hold of a decent camera, so these taken with my cellphone will have to do for now.

Excellent jacket Diego and Roberto, thank you very much from a happy customer! :TOH:

That must be an outtake from the Raven Bar. Shows clearly one side of the jacket, and a few details. The pocket (flap) scallops are not as pronounced (rounded) on the main Hero jacket as the Hawaii jacket. Compare:

http://www.imdb.com/media/rm556972800/t ... i_all_sf_3" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This image has been used a lot, but here is the main Hero behind the scenes:

Thanks for the pics, It's not always easy to get good ones. Since the shots are a little blurry please tell me what leather you have. I believe there were 2 choises then. Also, by now, how has it been holding up? Have you done anything to add age or character yourself? Can you compare this to any other jackets we are familiar with from your own experience?

Thanks :TOH:

So here it is Feb. 2014. That leather is probably gone, but your web site stays the same. :?
Did you get more, or a suitable replacement?
In other words, Please give me an update on your fine jacket and the leather available!

It's been holding up great, though I must say I haven't been wearing it a lot since these last couple of months have been VERY hot down here, so it still looks shiny new, though I've wore it enough so that it fits perfectly to my body. The leather is smooth nondistressed lambskin. I haven't done anything to age or distress it other than wearing it whenever I can. Sorry, I can't compare it to any other jacket, this is not only my first Indy jacket, but my first leather jacket as well.
I wish I could be of more help, I haven't even updated the pics for better ones. I hope I can do it soon! :TOH:
