You could try Paul Fredrick. They can do just about anything you want in a dress shirt. Prices, are fair and quality is good. W>

Might I recommend http://www.mattdeckard.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The vintage multi stripe is rather similar.

This is a bit strange Bogie1943...but, I clicked onto the site and clicked 'shirts' and got a warning that this website contains malicious contents :-k ! Don't know what to make of this one. W>

Well that's hogwash. Probably your computers security, firewall settings. I've visited the site many times with no issue. Matt Deckard and his products are both outstanding.

Princeton Shirt

Post by Dr. Nebraska S. »

Actually, I found a VERY close version of the shirt made by American Living at J.C. Penny's just a year ago:

Hey friend...I am not putting him, his products or his site down, I was simply reporting what occured when I attempted to go to the site. I was currious if others were encountering this and now, from your responce I see that it is probably something with my settings. Thanks for the feedback. W>

You could have Anthony make you one, depending on how much you're willing to spend.

WConly, I am sorry if my response read a bit snappy and I fully understand where you're coming from. It was not my intention to sound that way whatsoever. Back on topic, just thought I would share this photo as an example of Matt Deckard shirt. I'm wearing it with my tweed suit. Please forgive the iPhone pic.

Nice shirt friend. I like that. No, I wasn't upset with you, I just didn't want anyone to get the impression I was putting his products or his site down. I just though it important to mention in case there was an issue -- for his beneift, so that he could get it corrected. That really is a good looking shirt. W>

I'm trying to put together sort of a Venice suit. I found a neat looking "sort of" type suit in a second-hand store and I'm getting the pants fixed a bit by my tailor...

now on to the shirt/tie, etc.

I'll try to have some pics once I get the whole ensemble done up.

btw, the link to Deckard site works fine for me. All these clothiers have such nice stuff...

Curious, but why is the shirt asked about by the OP called the "Princeton" shirt? Was it because that scene was filmed at Princeton?

In LC, he was teaching at Barnett College.

Update on my Venice suit: pants came out great, they fit now! I also ordered Magnoli's Marshall College tie, I just love that green color. Looking forward to getting that one and using it with my suit even though it does not have a vest.

Now I'm on the lookout for a burgundy "close enough" Venice tie...

I was searching for shirts at Kohl's the other week and found a very close shirt to the Princeton, had the blue stripes and everything, only instead of the red smaller stripes, they were more of a grey or light blackish color, maybe even a bit purple/grape...was close but I didn't pull the trigger because it did not have the red in it and it was the only one there and was not my size...back to the search...

OK, I went to the Kohl's website just to check and I found this one which is pretty good:

http://www.kohls.com/product/prd-127897 ... -shirt.jsp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Only thing is it is button down collar and the blue is a bit dark rather than Indy's light blue stripes, but it would work in a pinch...

and another one at JCP but doesn't really have the blue stripes, just broader bluish color:

http://www.jcpenney.com/dotcom/gifts/fo ... imVal=long" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

You have to change the color of the shirt once you get there to the Oxford Blue/red stripe...

again, would work in a pinch and look at the price!
