Replica Inglis Slide Lock Replacement - UK

Post by Zoltar »

I managed to track down an old Hi Power replica spot on to the correct model for an Indy Inglis. No easy task in the UK now buying new replica's is no longer legal. Unfortunately the slide lock was broken into three pieces leaving me with a real pain of a repair. I think the only option is to replace it with one from a real Browning and make any modifications necessary to accommodate it.

After some quick research it Looks like fitting an after market extended slide lock is a common upgrade on Browning's in the USA so I'm guessing there's possibly quite out there kicking around.

The main sticking point is the legality shipping one into the UK, I've imported grips for a Mauser and an M1917 that have arrived in packaging that are marked as clearly coming from gun dealers, the later came direct from Smith & Wesson with no interference from customs!
A component part even as innocuous as slide stop is probably enough to get me into big bother! :Plymouth:

Anyone have any thoughts or experience with similar issues?
