Nappa Leather care?

Post by TerminusBreak »

Just ordered a jacket made of "Nappa Leather." I'm curious as to know what I should condition it with when it arrives? I usually use Pecards Leather dressing on all my leather, but Googling Nappa Leather, says it could be anything from Lamb-(Sheep/kid), Cow, or Pig...I know you're not supposed to use the Leather Dressing on lamb, so what is recommended? I'm hoping the tag on the jacket will specify what kind of skin it is, however if it doesn't, what would be safe to use on all leathers if the type cannot be ascertained?

Thanks! 8)

(edit) I just discovered that it is 100% cow, so Pecards Leather Dressing should be fine then right?

Yep, should be, and it's not exactly correct you can't use Pecards on lambskin. You can, but use VERY VERY sparingly.

Okay, good.

And thanks for clarifying about lambskin/Leather dressing!
