Old jacket, new pic.
Hi folks,
Having recently visited the Hollywood Costume collection at the V&A in London, it has given me an appetite to focus on my own little collection.
I've taken a couple of fresh pics of this jacket and although I'm aware that many of you have already seen this one, there may be some newer members that have not.
This Wested LC (in authentic brown lamb) was bought in January of 2008.
Hope you like.
Cheers,
JTW.

Most grateful guys,
it can take an unusual situation to make you appreciate your own gear a little more.
Perhaps I've become brain washed, but I could have sworn I was looking at a Wested at the V&A. The overall structure of the jacket and the distingtive texture of the lambskin was so similar.

Hi JtW,
You did a great job on the distressing. Do you wear it much now that it is distressed in this way?

Is it as stiff as it appears in your photo?

I've hardly worn it, maybe three times.Texan Scott wrote:Hi JtW,

The jacket was bought to be worked on and then displayed. I've allways looked upon it as a blank canvas on which I could satisfy an artistic craving.
It is somewhat stiffer that when it first arrived, having had numerous applications of saddle dressing and 2 x dunkings in buckets of water. At one point I put it through the washing machine to see if it would shrink a little, and It did.Michaelson wrote:Is it as stiff as it appears in your photo?

Wonderful pieces both of them. Do you keep them on display just as they are seen in the pics or behind some kind of glassed case?

Hi there,
no, I don't keep the hat and jacket in a cabinet, they're just out in the open.
Unlike my Stormtrooper helmet, beg your pardon for going off topic.
