I definitely want to get a CS hat from AB when I have funds again, plus a seaplane from LLS when he starts making those, but more & more some shots of the LC fedora are growing on me. Thinking Penman here, as it's actually built to be worn, unlike a modern HJ...
I wear my Garrison Raider pretty much daily (amazing hat!), but I'm also looking for something that looks a bit more "formal" for wearing w/ say a jacket or even a suit, while still being Indy brown.
I'll probably get them all w/ time, but I can't decide what to get first. What do you think can pull off a "classic" fedora look the best? I'm thinking CS, but could be wrong, so what do you guys think & why?
Most like a "classic" fedora: LC or CS?

I'm not a fan of the LC look so my vote would be for an AB.

I agree. To my eye, the LC is a little more of a 'cowboy' hat than a classic fedora

I certainly wouldn't call the LC hat a "cowboy" hat, but the brim curl certainly makes it look less "classic" than the CS hat.

IMHO, I believe both the LC and CS hats look great with earth-tone colors of suits. The LC style looked outstanding with Indy's 3-piece suit and bow tie when leaping out of his office window and walking the campus--one of the iconic professor looks. Plus, the scene on the Venice Pier can't be beat. In addition to the fedora with the suit at the end of CS, I know from first-hand experience that the CS brown fedora looks great with suits--2-piece, 3-piece, bow ties or neckties.

Thanks for the input so far, gentlemen!
I was actually leaning more toward CS anyway--I really love the look of that hat! I do like some of the pics on John's website of his LC hat as well, more so than many LC screen caps, actually, so I've been thinking about getting one eventually. One hat I really want to get from him is the Howard Hughes hat as I'm also a pilot.
NES: I saw your testimonial on AB's website & see what you meant about the hat working well in both the field & w/ a suit. Looks great on you. Can't wait to order mine; just need to get the funds together.

Thanks! Glad I could be of some assistance. It's still holding up quite well, as this recent photo can attest:

You've convinced me: CS from Steve it is! Hope to order by spring @ the latest (once I have the new job & a bit saved up for another "fun" purchase).
