I was wondering. Did Alden have these light-brown "racestipes" on the sides of the soles at all time, or is it a new "fancy" feature.
Mine have them,
but looking at screenshots from Raiders shows no sign of the stripes allthough the sole are build the same way.
Could it be that the stripes where dyed black for the movie, or did Aldens simply didn´t have them in the early 80´?
Have any of You guys AND girls any expirence in dyeing the soles all black?
If so how did You do it, and how was the result?

In it you can see the different types of sole on the Aldens, one is like yours and is "newer" stock, the other is like the film boots and is "older" stock. I think that's the key, the older ones don't have the stripe...

The answer is no, I believe they started the race stripe around the time of the orange colored Aldens. I had a mint pair from 89' that did not have the stripe. I also have an older pair from around the time of Raiders that dont either.
