I am still in the learning mode with regard to Bullwhips. I now want to share with you a few pics of the whip I got today. It's a Raiders 8' 12 plait made by J.M. Whips. That is Jeremy McEachern aka Riku1914. I did a lot of reading on comments before choosing Jeremy. Even though he is somewhat new in the market place, there were quite a few respectable comments on his quality craftsmanship and the usability of his whips.
So, I ordered my first whip. I went to the classic Raiders style in 8' kangaroo. This leather is naturally darker (as opposed to died), you can see the difference in the knob at the end of the handle which is made in the standard color. I don't remember the exact details of the leather but hopefully, Jeremy will add some detail. Another cool thing is, he sent me pictures of the "making-of" every step of the way - no charge. I have a cool collection of shots of the construction to go with this fine whip.
These shots are not his. I just took them outside before it gets too late in the afternoon. Not being a whip-man for years, I don't know if I gave "you" the details and angles you love to see, but I tried.
Now I'm waiting for my Wade Egan Super whip Holder

Re: My New J.M. Whips 8' Raiders
Thank you ray!
The deal with the leather was that I ordered a few natural tan hides and for whatever reason, they were quite dark. Ray was wanting a whip darker than natural tan so I was going to have to come up with the money for another shipment of roo ( I have to order at least 4 hides at a time to make the shipping costs somewhat affordable ) so he could have a saddle tan whip. When I got these hides in I knew they'd be perfect for what he was wanting.
I hope you enjoy cracking, no matter how difficult it is as first :p
Thanks

Hey, thanks for posting that! I put it in the vendor section but was thinking I should put it here. I may still start a thread for it.
